How to obtain the Golden Visa in Spain?

Surely if you have come to Ibiza, even once, you have fallen in love with its beaches, crystal clear waters, relaxed countryside and its fun atmosphere. Getting a long term visa in Spain usually takes quite a long time and you don’t always get it, but if you plan to buy a property in Ibiza and exceeds €500.000, this acquisition entitles you to apply for the Golden Visa.

The Golden Visa allows to obtain a visa or a residence permit in Spain for 3 years to non-EU foreigners who make a significant capital investment in our country. This permit can be renewed even if you don’t live permanently in the country, but at least 183 days per year.

In Ibiza Country Villas we have long experience helping and advising our clients to apply for the Golden Visa through the purchase of properties in Ibiza. In addition to assisting in purchasing your home, we know all the requirements you need and we can get you in touch with experts who will manage the whole process. If you are interested in obtaining more information about the Golden Visa, here are the main characteristics and requirements to apply for it.

TYPE OF INVESTMENTS
  1. Purchase of a property in Spain worth at least €500,000€.
  2. Make an investment in the Spanish public debt of at least €2,000,000 or buy shares in a company or make a deposit in a Spanish bank of at least €1,000,000.
  3. To have a business project in Spain
What is the difference between the two permits?

The visa allows you to enter Spanish territory, reside or work for one year. Once this period has elapsed, you must apply for a residence permit. The residence permit grants a three-year permit to reside or work in Spanish territory when the applicants are legally in Spain.

advantages
  1. The resolution period is very fast. In the case of the visa, it only takes 10 working days and in the case of the residence authorization it is only 20 working days. In addition, in the case of administrative silence, it means it’s positive.
  2. You can come as a tourist to Spain and carry out the processing.
  3. The applicant's family members (spouse and minor children) will also get the residence permit with the same application.
  4. If you want to apply for the Permanent Residence Permit in the future (after living in Spain for 5 years) or Spanish Nationality (after 10 years living in Spain), these permits count and accelerate the process.
