{"id":12897,"date":"2022-03-30T09:13:58","date_gmt":"2022-03-30T09:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icv.tunuevapagina.com\/the-medieval-ibiza-festival-will-take-place-from-may-12th-to-15th\/"},"modified":"2024-07-16T10:57:50","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T10:57:50","slug":"the-medieval-ibiza-festival-will-take-place-from-may-12th-to-15th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibizacountryvillas.com\/en\/the-medieval-ibiza-festival-will-take-place-from-may-12th-to-15th\/","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;Medieval Ibiza&#8221; festival will take place from May 12th to 15th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the second weekend of May the old town of Eivissa, known by the name of Dalt Vila,<strong> is transformed into a medieval market<\/strong> where there is room for peddlers, nobles, fakirs, snake charmers or minstrels.<\/p>\n<p>It is the staging of a big party with which the Eivissa Town Hall celebrates the declaration by Unesco of <strong>four natural and cultural elements of the island as a World Heritage Site<\/strong>. This declaration took place in December 1999.<\/p>\n<p>The commemorative events focus mainly on aspects related to<strong> the cultures that have shaped the essence of Eivissa<\/strong>, a city through which Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs have passed, and which today is still very much subject to the influence of external cultures.<\/p>\n<p>The streets of Dalt Vila are decorated with cloths and flags and remind us of the medieval Eivissa of past centuries. There are also <strong>places to sell all kinds of handicraft products<\/strong> belonging to the aforementioned cultures, including the traditional Ibicencan one.<\/p>\n<p>{snippet inversion-en}<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the weekend, <strong>more than 150,000 people visit the markets<\/strong> and participate in the various entertainment shows and activities. The most outstanding are the medieval theater, falconry, archery and Arab dances.
