What documentation do I need to apply for a home purchase visa?<\/h3>\n

Whether or not the purchase of a real estate property in Spain<\/strong> has already been formalized, all persons are obliged to compile a series of documents that we list below:<\/p>\n

  1. Visa application form (Original and photocopy)<\/li>\n
  2. One passport-type photo (White Background, 2×2″)<\/li>\n
  3. Passport or Travel Document (Original and photocopy of the main page)<\/li>\n
  4. I.D. Card that proves your place of residence is within the jurisdiction of the Spanish Consulate of your nearest location<\/li>\n
  5. Certification of \u201cabsence of police records\u201d<\/li>\n
  6. Proof of sufficient economic funds for you and your family<\/li>\n
  7. Proof of Insurance that covers Sanitary Assistance, Accidents, Emergencies, Evacuation, Medical Repatriation, Return of Remains with complete international coverage<\/li>\n
  8. Disclaimer duly signed<\/li>\n
  9. Payment of the Visa Fees is accepted with money orders<\/li>\n
  10. Certifying Documentation (if the purchase has already been formalized) or a pre-contract with guarantee together with a certificate from a financial institution established in Spain (if the purchase has not yet been formalized).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How long does the visa for the purchase of a real estate property last?<\/h3>\n

    The term of validity of the Visa for the Acquisition of Real Estate in Spain<\/strong> varies depending on whether the property has already been acquired (i.e. the purchase-sale has already been formalized) or not.<\/p>\n

    In the first case, the visa will be valid for 365 calendar days (1 year).<\/p>\n

    In the second case, the visa will be valid for 6 months, as long as there is a pre-contract with a guarantee of its fulfillment by means of a deposit or other means formalized in a public deed.<\/p>\n

    Who can apply for a residence visa?<\/h3>\n

    If you are thinking of obtaining a residence visa when buying a house in Ibiza<\/strong> (or any property in Spain) for more than 500.000\u20ac, you should know that the application must be presented in person.<\/p>\n

    When do I have to apply for a residence visa?<\/h3>\n

    In any of the possible cases (the purchase-sale has been formalized or a pre-contract has been made for the acquisition of a real estate property in Spain), the application must be submitted a maximum of 90 days prior to the planned date of travel.<\/p>\n

    It is very important to take into account all these factors, since if all the documentation is not submitted in due time and form, the application will be automatically rejected<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Can I travel with my family if I purchase real estate in Spain?<\/h3>\n

    Those people who are planning to buy a house in Ibiza<\/strong> or anywhere in Spain should know that they can travel accompanied by their family members, as long as the following requirements are met:<\/p>\n

    • Spouse or person with an analogous affective relationship of the main applicant should submit his\/ her own visa application as a family member of an investor Residence visa, with all required documents 1 \u2013 11, plus the Marriage certificate authenticated with the Apostille of The Hague\u00a0 and translated into Spanish.<\/li>\n
    • Children of the main applicant should submit his\/ her own visa application as a family member of an investor Residence visa, with all required documents 1 \u2013 11, plus the Birth certificates authenticated with the Apostille of The Hague\u00a0 and translated into Spanish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
