Ibiza Inclusion Fashion Day Parade on Saturday, March 7th

Ibiza Inclusion Fashion Day 2020

The solidarity footbridge will be sponsored by Irene Villa and the proceeds will be donated to the Association of Sportsmen and Women with Disabilities of Ibiza and Formentera (ADDIF).

Next Saturday, 7th March 2020, the Ibiza Inclusion Fashion Day parade will take place at the Fairgrounds (Recinto Ferial). This is the first edition and designers such as Monika Maxim, Etikology, Trinidades Ibiza and Alfonso Sánchez will be taking part.

Models such as Marian Avila and Krys Pasiecznik will parade down the catwalk "to show that we are all equal and that we should have the same rights and opportunities in life", as Emma Torres, one of the organisers of Ibiza Inclusion Fashion Day, says.

"BE PART OF A PROJECT TOGETHER"

Another of the initiative's promoters, Enrique Villena, also explains that the intention is none other than "to organize a parade only for people with different abilities, but that our intention was to use a commemorative date, close to World Down Syndrome Day, which is March 21.

With this project they intend to "show that we can all be part of a project together and that we deserve the same visibility". Without a doubt a great initiative to which we wish the best of luck from Ibiza Country Villas.

The main sponsors of the parade are the Consell d'Eivissa and FECOEV (the company that manages the fairground where the event will take place). They will also receive support from all the island's town halls, as well as the Irene Villa Foundation and other private entities.

Organizers, institutions and collaborating companies share the same horizon: that this event becomes an annual parade.

THE PARADE'S STARS

The group with Down syndrome "deserves special visibility because it is one of the most stigmatized, unknown and excluded from society, when it simply translates into a difference in chromosomes, which exists in all regions of the world and can usually have an impact on learning, physical characteristics or health," the organization says.

That is why "adequate access to health care, early intervention programmes and inclusive education, as well as appropriate research, are vital for the growth and development of all people" and that is why "they are the protagonists of this parade", they conclude.
