The "Medieval Ibiza" festival will take place from May 12th to 15th
During the second weekend of May the old town of Eivissa, known by the name of Dalt Vila, is transformed into a medieval market where there is room for peddlers, nobles, fakirs, snake charmers or minstrels.
It is the staging of a big party with which the Eivissa Town Hall celebrates the declaration by Unesco of four natural and cultural elements of the island as a World Heritage Site. This declaration took place in December 1999.
The commemorative events focus mainly on aspects related to the cultures that have shaped the essence of Eivissa, a city through which Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs have passed, and which today is still very much subject to the influence of external cultures.
The streets of Dalt Vila are decorated with cloths and flags and remind us of the medieval Eivissa of past centuries. There are also places to sell all kinds of handicraft products belonging to the aforementioned cultures, including the traditional Ibicencan one.

Throughout the weekend, more than 150,000 people visit the markets and participate in the various entertainment shows and activities. The most outstanding are the medieval theater, falconry, archery and Arab dances. There are also choral music concerts in the churches of Dalt Vila, folklore exhibitions in the 16th century cloister of the Town Hall and other cultural shows.
It should be noted that about 200 craft stalls and a hundred artists participate in this festival and that, progressively, more cultural events are being introduced in the program that, together with the purely recreational ones, try to delve a little deeper into the history of our city.
The dates of Medieval Eivissa 2022 will be May 12, 13, 14 and 15.
